CDC Launches Clean Hands Count Initiative
To coincide with World Hand Hygiene Day on May 5th, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) introduced a new campaign called Clean Hands Count to promote hand hygiene in healthcare settings. The aim of the new campaign is to improve internal compliance with CDC hand hygiene recommendations, to address myths and misperceptions about hand hygiene, and to empower patients and other healthcare providers to play a role in helping to improve hand hygiene.
The new campaign’s website features posters, factsheets, and brochures, as well as media and social media tools, to help healthcare professionals and the community to spread the word about the importance of hand hygiene.
