September is Dental Infection Control Awareness Month

The , formerly known as the Organization for Safety and Asepsis (OSAP), is sponsoring Dental Infection Control Awareness Month (DICAM) in September, asking stakeholders to support and promote dental safety throughout the month. The theme for 2024 is “Embracing a Culture of Safety: Empowering Patients and the Dental Team”.

Each week ADS will focus on a different dental infection control topic:

• Hand Hygiene (September 2 – 6)
• Dental Unit Waterlines (September 9 –13)
• Instrument Reprocessing (September 16 –20)
• Personal Protective Equipment (September 23 – 27)

OSAP has prepared a DICAM toolkit to help dental healthcare personnel showcase their infection control and safety practices and demonstrate their commitment to keeping patients safe.
