Online License Renewal for CA Dental Licensees Coming Soon – Dental Board of CA
The California Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA) is rolling out a new online program that will revolutionize the way dental licensees and license applicants do business. The online program is called BreEZe, which is DCA’s new licensing and enforcement system and a one-stop shop for consumers, licensees and applicants. BreEZe will enable consumers to verify a professional license and file a consumer complaint. Dental licensees and applicants will be able submit license applications, renew a license and change their address among other services.
Online benefits for licensees include:
- Apply for or renew license
- Pay with a major credit card in a secure environment
- Track the status of an application or licensing request
- Submit address change
- Obtain proof of renewal status
The first phase of BreEZe became available for physicians, nurses, and a limited number of other professional groups in 2013. Since then, problems identified in the first phase have been identified and corrected for rollout of the second phase, which is expected to occur in December and will include Dental Board of California (DBC) licensees. A few days prior to the live date, the DBC will be unable to process licensing requests until the new phase goes live, and is requesting affected licensees renewing during this time period to mail their license renewals in as soon as they receive notification.
